
The Australian telecommunications landscape was reshaped in FY25 as challenger brands Aussie Broadband (ASX: ABB) and Superloop (ASX: SLC) delivered explosive growth, significantly increasing their market share and putting incumbents on notice. Aussie Broadband cemented its scale, with revenues surging 18.7% to nearly $1.2 billion, driven by a diversified strategy and the successful integration of Symbio. Superloop, while smaller, demonstrated remarkable operating leverage, with revenue climbing 31% to $546.5 million and underlying EBITDA skyrocketing 70% to $92.2 million.
Both companies aggressively grew their NBN customer base, with Aussie Broadband reaching an 8.4% market share and Superloop hitting 6.6%, signalling a clear and accelerating shift in consumer and wholesale preferences.
